The Elections Commission has finally issued official results of the LG election by releasing results of the Manthei Pradeshiya Sabha in the Mulaitivu District. 

According to the official results, the Illankai Tamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) has received 1836 votes, securing 6 seats. 

The UNP has received 1505 votes with 04 seats and the SLFP has got 523 with 02 seats.

When asked about the delay in issuing official results, a spokesman of the Elections Commission said the results would be released only Council-wise with the number of seats each party receives. 

"This process takes some time," he explained, adding that the official results would be out shortly.
