CPC Unions Say No Trade Union Action In The Picture: Urges Public Not To Get Hoodwinked By False SMSs

February 23, 2018

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation trade unions said there were no plans to conduct a strike as claimed by some SMSs.

They said the SMSs were aimed at creating a fear of a possible oil shortage and push consumers into panic buying.

The Unions said a trade union action was never in the picture and there was no issue with regard to fuel distribution.

"There was some delay in paying salaries of CPSTL workers. But that problem was resolved by Wednesday," the trade union said urging the public not to be misled by false propaganda.
