UNP State Minister Palitha Range Bandara said he would lead an initiative to present a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. 

Addressing a press conference in Puttalam, his hometown, Range Bandara sad several other UNP Ministers too were ready for this task. 

He also added that the people of the country expected a leadership change in the party. 

"There was no point in doing a cabinet reshuffle without a leadership change," he added  

The State Minister said there was frustration among the party rank and file over the current state of affairs in the party.
