The Bribery Commission today arrested the Assistant Superintendent of the Police (ASP) in Wennappuwa while accepting a bribe. 

The senior Police officer had been caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 30,000, the Bribery Commission sources said. 

The ASP had allegedly asked for the bribe to ensure functioning of a brothel. 

Further investigations are currently underway.
