Viber, in a message to all its Sri Lankan users, said access to the free messaging service is now unblocked. 

The Sri Lankan government said last evening that it would unblock Viber from last midnight. 

However, Facebook and a few other platforms still face restrictions in Sri Lanka.

Facebook ban is expected to be lifted on Friday, depending on the progress of the discussions between the Sri Lankan government and Facebook Inc. officials.
