Arrest warrants have been issued on National Freedom Front Leader Wimal Weerawansa and its National Organizer Jayantha Samaraweera, a short while ago. 

The warrants have been issued as they failed to appear before court over a corruption case. 

The court case deals with alleged financial misappropriations that occured at the Ministry of Housing and Construction, when Weerawansa was the Minister. 

Samaraweera, a close ally of Weerawansa, was the Chairman of National Housing Development Authority at the time. 

Both are now Parliamentarians representing the Joint Opposition.
