President And PM To Hold Discussion On Cabinet Reshuffle Today: "Many Differences Yet To Be Ironed Out"

President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will today hold a discussion on the proposed Cabinet reshuffle, Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said.

The discussion between the President and the Prime Minister takes place against a backdrop where many UNP Ministers have refused to step down from their current portfolios.

Top government sources indicated that the new Cabinet would have between 43 and 46 members.

However, the date of the Cabinet reshuffle is yet to be announced.

Although Cabinet spokesman Rajitha Senaratne said the reshuffle would happen this week, informed UNP sources added that any differences had to be ironed out before the reshuffle.
