Former Justice Minister Wijedasa Rajapakshe, who was sacked from his previous portfolio, has been re-appointed as a Cabinet minister. 

Rajapaksa, a President's Counsel, has been appointed the Minister of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs. 

He was sacked from his previous portfolio for criticizing the government's policies while remaining a Cabinet Minister. 

The former Minister, however, voted in favour of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the no-confidence vote last month.
