National Player Was On A "Night Out" During First Test In Galle - Team Manager

Team manager’s report on the first test match against Pakistan in Galle, which has now been submitted to the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) says that a young player of the Sri Lankan Cricket team was not in his hotel room one night during the test match.

Michael de Zoysa, Manager of the Sri Lanka cricket team stated in his report that the young player did not seek permission before leaving his hotel room in the night. According to the code of conduct for national cricket players, it is an offence to leave the hotel room in the night, without obtaining permission from the team management.

However, the manager’s report is tight-lipped on the sex scandal involving a female secretary of the Sri Lanka cricket and a player of the national cricket team. It was alleged that the female official walked into a hotel room with a young cricketer during the first test match in Galle against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Asian Mirror, former Sri Lankan Captain Arjuna Ranatunga to get his viewpoints on the controversies involving players of the national cricket team. Ranatunga, who is known to be a strict disciplinarian when he was the captain of the cricket team, said he was away from the country and therefore was not aware of the recent controversies involving cricketers.

However, there is a strong outcry among the sports lovers that the Sri Lanka Cricket, the top administrative body of cricket in Sri Lanka, to take measures to restore discipline especially among young players representing the cricket team.
