"The nature has been taken by shock by the lies they spread before the Presidential election," Rajapaksa said, addressing a gathering in Ambalanthota.

He said President Sirisena, when the latter was running for presidency spread lies about Lamboginis, Golden horses and palatial houses.

"Ironically, his own chief of staff has been arrested while accepting a bribe."

"The war heroes who saved this country have now become terrorists and terrorists have become war heroes," he added.
