'Striking Workers Have Damaged Government Properties': Railway Department Complains To CID

The Department of Railways has lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) that striking railway workers have damaged properties of the institution.

It also stated that the trade union action by technical staffers which began yesterday has delayed railway services.

The Department yesterday requested all its technical staffers who are currently on strike to report to work immediately.

The Department said those who failed to report to work would be considered to have vacated their positions.

Railway workers attached to the Railway Technical Services Trade Union Committee began their 48-hour strike yesterday.
