Sri Lanka Cricket has removed the pitch of the Galle International Cricket stadium.

Informed sources said a new pitch would be laid according to international standards.

This is one of the series of corrective actions taken by Sri Lanka Cricket in the wake of the recent revelations by AL Jazeera.

A documentary aired by Al Jazeera showed how the curator of the stadium, Tharanga Indika, was involved in pitch-fixing, along with a few other Sri Lankan players.

In the documentary, Indika says he 'doctored' the pitch in Galle during bilateral tournaments against Australia and India.

The SLC has immediately suspended their services pending an investigation by the ICC.
