SriLankan Airlines CEO Suren Ratwatte Tenders Letter Of Resignation Seeking Early Retirement

The Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Airlines Suren Ratwatte has tendered his letter of resignation, Asian Mirror learns. 

Suren Ratwatte, the brother of Prime Minister's Senior Advisor Charitha Ratwatte, held the position for nearly three years.

The decision comes amidst plans to restructure the national carrier.

Ratwatte had said he was seeking an early retirement from the airline to facilitate its ongoing restructuring process. 

The government recently appointed a new board of directors, headed by Ranjith Fernando, to administer SriLankan Airlines.
