Sujeewa Promises To Donate Perpetual Treasuries Money To A Charity: Maintains He Did Not Know The Money Funded His Campaign

State Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe has said that he is willing to donate the sum of money given towards his campaign financing by Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) to a charity.

The State Minister said he was willing to donate the Rs. 3 million given him, if so advised by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya or a Chief Prelate.

Senasinghe maintains he had no knowledge of the transaction between PTL and his campaign managers, stating earlier that he had almost ‘fainted’ when he heard about it.

He even said he would resign from Parliament if it were proved that he had personally received any monies from PTL.

Senasinghe’s connection with PTL money is doubly damning, as he was a member of COPE, which probed the alleged Central Bank bond scam.
