MR Says Government Has No Time To Curb Underworld As It Is Busy With 'Political Investigations'

Former President Mahinda Rajaapaksa said the current government had allowed 'underworld' gangsters to rule the country.

Speaking to media on the deaths of two Local Government councilors, the former President said  the government could no longer turn a blind eye to the matter.

He also added that underworld gangs are raising their heads in the Northern province too.

"The government can't brush these things under the carpet. It is high time they address these problems," he said.

Rajapaksa stated the government did not have time to address such pressing issues as they were "busy" with expediting 'political investigations'.
