Beautician Chandimal Jayasinnghe who rose to fame due to his extravagant birthday party at Shanhri-la Hotel recently is currently under investigation by the Inland Revenue Department. 

Speaking to a vernacular newspaper, Jayasinghe said officials from the Inland Revenue Department visited his business establishment and conducted an investigation. 

"They also summoned me to the Department and asked about my income," he added. 

Jayasinghe said he only had to pay for the venue when organizing his birthday party as everything else was handled by his friends free of charge. 

"The Inland Revenue Department started this investigation as many people published wrong information about the birthday party," he added. 

The Beautician said he was willing to cooperate with the investigation in every possible way.
