Striking Postal Workers To Get Massive Salary Cut: Strike To Continue As Talks With Authorities Fail

The Post Master General today said only the workers who did not engage in the strike would get full salary for the month of June.

Others, he said, would only get paid for 11 days.

Speaking to Asian Mirror, a postal trade union leader said such ill-advised decisions would exacerbate the current crisis.

The Sri Lankan postal service has been dysfunctional for nearly two weeks due to a trade union action by postal workers.

The trade unions involved in the strike announced this evening that they would continue with the trade union action as talks with authorities, including the Subject Minister, failed.
