Education Minister and UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and German dictator Adolf Hitler had two main similarities  

"Both of them were vegetarian," Kariyawasam said, addressing a press conference in Colombo yesterday. 

"Also, both of them did not have citizenship in their own countries," he said adding that Hitler was initially a citizen of Austria. 

"Hitler tried his best to obtain German citizenship. Similarly, the former Defence Secretary of Sri Lanka does not have the Sri Lankan citizenship."

The UNP General Secretary also challenged Rajapaksa to renounce his US citizenship
