Ranjan Says Namal Rajapaksa Should Take Lead In Defamation Case Against New York Times

Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake said Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa should take lead in filing a lawsuit against the New York Times. 

The New York Times, in a front page story, last week revealed that the Chinese company handling the Port City project had financed former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's presidential election campaign. 

"Namal Rajapaksa was the law student who got highest marks in history," Ramanayake tweeted. 

"I hope the US judges will not run scares of his US citizen uncles," the Deputy Minister also added.

Former President Rajapaksa said he would take legal actiom against The New York Times over the article.
