Popular singer Priyani Jayasinghe has been hacked to death, the Police said. 

They said the singer had been attacked with a pair of scissors at her residence in Panadura. 

Initial inquiries are underway to arrest her husband in connection with the incident. 

Her husband, Police sources said, is currently missing, evading arrest.
