Vandersay Faces One Year Suspended Sentence: Also Fined 20% Of Contract Fee

Sri Lankan leg spinner Jeffrey Vandersay has been given a one year suspended sentence by the ICC on breaching the players' code of conduct during the recently concluded West Indies tour  

Vandersay, a member of the Sri Lankan squad touring West Indies, was sent back to Sri Lanka midway as he failed to return to his hotel room from a night club on time. 

The local cricket authorities then launched a full scale inquiry into the player's conduct. 

In addition to the suspended sentence, he has also ben fined 20% of his contract fee.
