Alistair Cook Who Played 158 Consecutive Test Matches For His Country Bids Adieu To International Cricket

Former England Captain Alistair Cook has announced his retirement from international cricket. 

The test match played against India at Oval will be his last international match. England has already dominated the series 3-1 and in a commanding position. 

The 33 year old cricketer holds by playing 158 consecutive test matches for his country. 

In 160 Test matches, Cook has scored 12254 runs at an average of 44.88. 

He has led England in 59 Tests and secured 24 victory. His country has lost 22 Test matches under his watch as the Captain. 

"Congrats on an exceptional career . will lose not only an outstanding player but an outstanding human being who gave everything for his team & team mates. Was an honour to share the field with you Chef! We will now all see the huge hole he leaves," his former team mate Matt Prior tweeted.
