ICC Gives Sri Lanka Cricket Corruption Report to President, PM, Sports Minister: "SL Cricket Facing Dangerous Situation:" Faizser

The International Cricket Council has handed over a report to President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sports Minister Faizser Mustapha on their ongoing investigations on Sri Lanka.

While publicizing that the reports have been handed over to the governing authorities, the ICC said it could not comment on the matter further as further inquiries are underway.

The ICC has also stated that it has received full support from the Competent Authority of Sri Lanka cricket.

Serious allegations of corruption have surfaced over Sri Lanka Cricket while the national cricket team is undergoing a disastrous patch in terms of performance.

Upon receiving the report, Minister Mustapha told media, "The ICC informed me that Sri Lanka Cricket is facing a dangerous situation."

However, the country's sports authorities have not taken any serious action when serious allegations of corruption were brought to their notice in the past.

Although Al Jazeera, an international TV channel, revealed damning evidence on match-fixing in Sri Lanka, no sustained follow-up action was taken by the sports authorities.
