National Livestock Development Board Chairman Arrested While Accepting Bribe Of Rs. 600000 To Expedite Lease Of Restaurant

The Chairman of the National Livestock Development Board has been arrested by the Bribery Commission, a short while ago. 

The Commission's sources said the senior state official was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs. 600,000. 

The bribe had been accepted by him to expedite lease of a restaurant at the Malsiripura farm. 

The Chairman is expected to be presented in court today. 

He was the third senior government official to be arrested while accepting a bribe, this year.

Previously, President Maithripala Sirisena's Chief of Staff Dr. I.K. Mahanama and State Timber Corporation Chairman P. Dissanayake were arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs. 20 million.
