Alleged Assassination Plot: GA Says 124 Out Of 125 Voice Samples Obtained From DIG Nalaka Silva And Namal Kumara Authentic

The Government Analyst has informed the court that 123 out of 124 voice clips under investigation matched with the voice samples obtained from DIG Nalaka Silva and Namal Kumara. 

the Government Analyst carried out investigations into the telephone records of an alleged conspiracy to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena. 

Meanwhile, the CID has already informed DIG Silva to appear before the investigators tomorrow. 

He has already been questioned for 28 hours, in three days, by the CID investigators. 

With the Government Analyst confirming the authenticity of the voice clips, there is an increased possibility of arresting DIG Nalaka Silva over the incident, a source familiar with the investigation said. 

However, a fresh issue has arisen over the mental health of the Indian national who has been arrested over the alleged conspiracy. 

The Indian national has informed the Magistrate that he feared an attempt to assassinate him while in the Police custody. 

Meanwhile, family members of the suspect had told Indian media that he was suffering from a grave mental illness since 1997.
