UNP MPs Reach Unanimous Decision To Fight MR's Appointment As PM: Confident Of Legal Position And International Support

The UNP Parliamentary group has made a unanimous decision to fight Mahinda Rajapaksa's appointment as the Prime Minister, Asian Mirror reliably learns. 

Informed party sources said the UNP was fairly confident of its legal position and the international support. 

"Several powerful nations have confirmed to us that they support Prime Minister Wickremesinghe," a senior UNPer said. 

A host of Parliamentarians of the UNP are currently inside Temple Trees, the official residence of the Prime Minister, with their supporters. 

Speaking to the press, the UNP MPs requested more party supporters to gather around Temple Trees.
