New Government Holds First Cabinet Meeting At Presidential Secretariat: Discussion Centres Around Budget 2019

The first cabinet meeting of the new UNP led government took place today at the Presidential Secretariat.

President Maithripala Sirisena chaired the meeting while Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also attended.

Government sources told Asian Mirror that the Cabinet meeting centred around the budget for 2019.

The government has already presented a vote on account to Parliament to meet government expenses for the first four months of this year.

Informed government sources also added the Gamperaliya programme, which was scrapped by the 51-day Sirisena-Rajapaksa, was re-approved at the Cabinet meeting this morning.
