President Sirisena Likely To Amend Gazette On Allocation Of Subjects: Kiriella To Receive More Institutions

President Maithripala Sirisena is likely to amend the Gazette notification on the allocation of subjects to ministries soon. 

According to the new amendment, the Ministry of State Enterprise, Hill Country Development and Kandy Heritage will receive more institutions. 

As per the first Gazette, the ministry, held by senior Parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella received only four low profile institutions. The senior minister met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and expressed severe disappointment with the President's move. 

It is learnt that several institutions that are currently placed under the Ministry of Finance and Media will be transferred to the Ministry of State Enterprise, Hill Country Development and Kandy Heritage. 

The Gazette has placed 48 institutions under the Ministry of Finance and Media.
