"Releasing Gnanasara Thera On Presidential Pardon Will Cause Grave Injustice To Me:" Sandhya Ekneligoda Writes To President Sirisena

Missing journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda's wife, Sandhya Ekneligoda's has written to President Maithripala Sirisena against his alleged attempts to release Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera on Presidential pardon. 

Sandhya Ekneligoda, in her letter, says any decision to release Gananasara Thera on presidential pardon will cause a grave injustice to her. 

The copies of Ekneligoda's letter have been sent to the Justice Minister and the Attorney General. 

It is widely speculated that President Sirisena will release Gnanasara Thera on Presidential pardon on February 04. Multiple religious bodies and their representatives have requested President Sirisena to grant the militant Buddhist monk a Presidential pardon. 

Gnanasara Thera was served a 6 year Rigorous Imprisonment by the Court of Appeal for contempt of court. Gnanasara Thera threatened Sandhya Ekneligoda within the Homagama Magistrate's Court premises.
