Former Minister Johnston Fernando Acquitted From All Charges In Non-Declaration Of Assets Case

The Colombo Chief Magistrate today acquitted former Minister Johnston Fernando in the case filed for non-declaration of assets and liabilities in 2010.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Bribery Commission file the case against the former Minister for failing to declare his assets and liabilities for two years since 2010.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayarathne acquitted Fernando due to the failure of the prosecutors to prove the charges against the former minister.

The Bribery Commission had filed five separate cases against him for four years from 2010 to 2014 under the Non-Declaration of Assets Act.
