UNP Parliamentarian Chaminda Wijesiri has allegedly assaulted a Police officer in Bandarawela, Asian Mirror learns. 

The officer is attached to the Narcotics Division of the Bandarawela Police. 

The Police officer has been admitted to hospital following the assault. He is currently under medical observation. 

The Parliamentarian is yet to be arrested over the incident. Police sources said a statement would be recorded from Wijesiri today over the incident.
