Sri Lanka Freedom Party General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera has been admitted to Jayawardenapura Teaching Hospital with a sudden illness. 

Hospital sources said the MP had complained of a chest pain.

He currently remains under close medical observation and his condition is not serious, the hospital sources added. 

Jayasekera, a former Minister, took office as the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party last month.
