SLTB Chairman Ramal Siriwardena Resigns From His Position Citing "Interference" By Senior Ministry Officials

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Chairman Ramal Siriwardena has resigned from his position. 

Siriwardena has informed the Transport Minister that he is resigning due to "interference" by the senior ministry officials. 

The SLTB Chairman is considered a strong ally of former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

He was also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Lakbima newspaper, owned by UPFA MP Thilanga Sumathipala. 

Asian Mirror learns that Siriwardena has already submitted his letter of resignation to the Ministry Secretary.
