Former JVP Parliamentarian K.D. Lalkantha was arrested by the Police over an accident, a short while ago. 

The Police Media Spokesman said the double cab the former MP was driving had hit a motorcycle injuring two woman in Anuradhapura this evening. 

The Police also added that Lalkantha was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. 

Lalkantha is a politburo member of the party and head the JVP's trade union activities.
