KOICA Hosts Session To Facilitate Knowledge On Korea Masters Scholarship Programmes

 

KOICA’s Scholarship Programme Information Session was held at ‘Randora’ Hall at the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media on 26th of February. The event was attended by KOICA Country Director, Kang Youn Hwa, ERD Additional Director General Mr. Ajith Abesekara and other 60 officers from ministries and departments.

The session was held to introduce KOICA’s scholarship programme to officers and increase interest in applying to Korea. 

The KOICA’s master degree programme is designed to nurture leaders who can contribute to their home countries, with the full scholarship support from KOICA.

Since the first Sri Lankan Fellow in 2005, 93 government officers from Sri Lanka have received master’s degrees in their filed.

This time, 17 courses are available ranging in five sectors, which are Governance, Rural Development Sector, Health, Technology and Environment & Energy and Education at 17 reputed universities in Korea.

Since 1991, KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) has cooperated with the Government of Sri Lanka to carry out a variety of development cooperation programs with the aim of contributing to socio-economic development of the island.

The application submission will be closed on 8th of March at ERD.
