Bone Samples From Mannar Mass Grave At Least 300 Years Old: Carbon Dating By Beta Analytics Lab In Florida Reveals

The six bone samples from the Mannar mass grave have been identified as belonging to the period from 1499 - 1719, according to the carbon dating carried out by the Beta Analytic Lab in Florida, USA.

The results of radiocarbon dating of the 6 samples from the mass grave site at the Sathosa building in Mannar have been submitted to the Mannar Magistrate by the Judicial Medical Officer.

The samples were taken from the Mannar mass grave for radiocarbon test under the observation of the OMP and the Mannar Magistrate.

With the latest findings, it has now been established that the Mannar mass grave was not connected to the Eelam war which ended in May 2009.
