President's Counsel Yasantha Kodagoda Takes Oaths As President Of Court Of Appeal

President's Counsel Yasantha Kodagoda took oaths as the President of the Court of Appeal, a short while ago.

Kodagoda's appointment was unanimously approved by the Constitutional Council last week.

Until his appointment as the head of the Appeal Court, Kodagoda served as an Additional Solicitor General at the Attorney General's Department.

President Maithripala Sirisena initially recommended Deepali Wijesundara to the top position of the Court of Appeal twice, but it was shot down by the Constitutional Council.

Yasantha Kodagoda is the son of Professor Nandadasa Kodagoda who was a veteran in the field of medicine in Sri Lanka.
