Arjuna Ranatunga's Security Officer Released From Case Over Firing Shots At Mob Inside CPC

Minister Arjuna Ranatunga's security officer was released from the case over firing shots at a mob during a brawl at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) in October, last year.

The incident occurred when a mob attempted to assault Ranatunga, who was attempting to enter his office at the Ministry in Dematagoda, just two days after the outbreak of the political crisis on October 26.

Ranatunga's security officer fired at the mob, killing one person and injuring another.

Ranatunga was barricaded inside the premises until the Special Task Force (STF) police escorted him out.
