Power And Energy Ministry Decides To Purchase 500 MW Of Electricity To End Current Power Cuts: "No Power Cuts From April 10": Ravi Assures

The Ministry of Power and Energy has decided to purchase 500 MW of electricity from the private sector to end the current power crisis. 

Accordingly, Power and Energy Minister Ravi Karunanayake said the public would not experience any power cuts from April 10. 

However, the government has requested the public to use electricity sparingly to prevent the recurrence of a power crisis. 

Karunanayake previously said plans were in place supply electricity without any shortage for another 3 to 4 months. 

The Power and Energy Minister has been conducting daily power cuts for several weeks causing severe inconvenience to the public.
