Special Task Force And Colombo Crimes Division Jointly Arrest Three People In Modera With Hand-Grenade Type Explosives And Swords

The Police Special Task Force and the Colombo Crime Division have jointly arrested three individuals in Modera with 21 hand grenade-type locally made low explosives and six swords. 

The arrests were made during a raid carried out in the area this morning. 

It is not immediately clear whether this group is a local criminal gang or members of an extremist group. The Police are yet to make an official statement on the involvement of these suspects in the Easter Sunday attack.

Extensive security checks are underway in many parts of the country to apprehend those linked to the Easter Sunday attacks on April 21. 

The Police have so far arrested nearly 80 people and they are currently being interrogated by the Poice.
