Police Say Personal Dispute Led To Buddhist Monk's Killing At Mapalagama: Investigations Underway To Arrest Former Worker At Temple

The Police confirmed that the killing of a Buddhist monk at a temple in Mapalagama, Galle, yesterday was not linked to any terrorist organization.

Police sources said a dispute between the monk and a worker at the temple had led to the monk's murder.

They also added that the workers had gone missing since the murder of the monk and the investigations are underway to arrest him.

However, some social media users erroneously speculated that the murder of the monk was linked to the rising Jihadist terrorism in the country.
