Three Muslims Awarded Rs. 1 Million Each On Providing Valuable Information On Terrorist Hideouts In Eastern Province: Two Policemen Also Rewarded

Three Muslim individuals awarded Rs. 1 Million each for providing information on terrorists in the Eastern Province, Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.

He also added that two Police officers were also awarded Rs 500,000 each for acting on that information and taking appropriate action. The two Police Constables have also been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. 

Meanwhile, the Army in a statement added that branded t-shirts, bank slips and "mysterious" syringes (generally unavailable in Sri Lanka) are among suspicious items recovered in the past 24 hours.

The Army also added that combined forces continue search operations in many parts of the country, including the Northern province. 

Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces - West had visited the Ragama Basilica Church yesterday in order to ensure security in the premises.

On his instructions, troops with sniffing dogs inspected the entire premises and strengthened the security in the area.
