Higher Education Ministry Instructs Non-State Education Institutes Not To Allow Anyone With "Face Cover" Into Premises

The City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education Ministry has advised non-State Higher Education institutes on adopting strict security measures to ensure the safety of students and properties.

In a letter to them, the Minister requested non-state higher education institutes to prevent persons with face cover from entering or staying within the premises.

"However, the remainder of dress code (head, ear neck cover) is considered personal decision," the letter says.

The Ministry has also instructed them to ensure a visible security presence at all entry points in liaison with the Police and armed forces.

The letter instructs educational institutions to examine every individual and vehicle thoroughly before allowing them into the premises.
