Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith Says Catholic Schools Will Reopen For Second Term On May 14 Amid Strict Security Measures

Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said all Catholic schools will reopen on May 14, afer taking into consideration the security measures provided by the government.

Although Catholic schools were previously scheduled to reopen on May 06, the Archbishop requested the schools to postpone the reopening, given the current security situation in the country.

However, the government has strengthened security around government schools and other public sector institutions.

Primary grades of all government schools are also expected to open for the second term early next week. Academic activities of many universities will also resume next week .
