Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dassanayake has issued an order to the Superintendent of the Batticaloa prison to present National Thowheed Jamaath leader Zahran Hasheem's sister to the Colombo Special Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) for a DNA test.

The court has permitted the police to conduct a DNA test to ascertain the identity of the suicide bombers who carried out the Easter Sunday explosions.

There are confusing reports on whether National Thowheed Jamaath leader, who masterminded the Easter Sunday explosions, is dead.

The Police have concluded that Zaharan Hashim was one of the suicide bombers who attacked Shangri-la Hotel, Colombo, on April 21.

His wife and daughter also remain in the police custody. Several family members of Zaharan Hashim died in the Sainthamardu explosion in Kalmunai.
