Court Permits CID To Obtain Blood Samples From Zaharan Hashim's Daughter To Conduct DNA Test On NTJ Leader's Remains

The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court has permitted the CID to obtain blood samples from Zahran Hashim's daughter to conduct a DNA test on the National thowheed Jamaath Leader's remains.

Zaharan Hashim's daighter was rescued by the security forces from the Saindamardu safehouse where multiple suicide explosions took place.

The Fort MC also issued an order to the Superintendent of the Batticaloa prison to present National Thowheed Jamaath leader Zahran Hasheem's sister to the Colombo Special Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) for a DNA test.

The court has permitted the police to conduct a DNA test to ascertain the identity of the suicide bombers who carried out the Easter Sunday explosions.

There are confusing reports on whether National Thowheed Jamaath leader, who masterminded the Easter Sunday explosions, is dead.

The Police have concluded that Zaharan Hashim was one of the suicide bombers who attacked Shangri-la Hotel, Colombo, on April 21.

His wife also remains in the police custody. Several family members of Zaharan Hashim died in the Sainthamardu explosion in Kalmunai.
