The Police lifted the countrywide curfew this morning, except in the Northwestern province, Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.

However, the Police curfew in the Northwestern province will remain until further notice to ensure security in the area.

Meanwhile, all schools in the Northwestern province will remain closed due to the coffee.

The Police have requested the people in the area to remain calm and support the law enforcement authorities.
