Security Beefed Up Around Nallur Temple Jaffna Due To Anonymous Letter Threatening Possible Attack: Jaffna Police Investigating The Letter

Security forces have beefed up security around Nallur temple in Jaffna after an anonymous letter was received threatening a terrorist attack.

The Jaffna police are currently investigating the letter.

Defense sources told Asian Mirror that the security around the temple was beefed up as a precautionary measure although the authenticity of the letter is yet to be establishment.

It is also learnt that the Northern Provincial Governor has also discussed the matter with the heads of security forces in Jaffna.

Tens of thousands of Hindu devotees gather at Nallur Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu places of worship in Sri Lanka, on a weekly basis for prayers.
