Prime Minister Writes To Speaker Urging To Expedite Appointment Of PSC Probing Bathiudeen: Also Requests Interim Report On Findings In Two Weeks

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremsinghe has requested Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to expedite the appointment of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing allegations against ACMC Leader Rishad Bathiudeen who is currently facing a No-Confidence Motion in Parliament.

The Prime Minister's Office said Wickremesinghe requested the Speaker to take necessary measures to present an interim report in two weeks to the House.

Jayasuriya informed Parliament a short while ago that No-Confidence Motion against Rishad Bathiudeen will be taken up in Parliament on June 18 and 19.

The Speaker's decision upheld the ruling party's position that the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing Bathiudeen is given three weeks to investigate the allegations.
