Prime Minister Meets Senior Officials Of Police And Attorney General's Department To Discuss Progress Of Investigations Into Easter Sunday Attacks

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe met senior officials of the Police Department and the Attorney General's Department yesterday to discuss the progress of the investigations into Easter Sunday explosions.

A spokesman from the Prime Minister's Office said the current situation arrests, detentions and prosecutions following the Easter Sunday attacks.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed the Police and the Attorney General’s Department to work out a policy where the actual terrorist suspects are detained and prosecuted but the people arrested for minor unrelated offenses be enlarged on bail.

Ministers Tilak Marapane PC and Thalatha Athukorale were also present at the meeting.
